There’s lots more pictures of the ranch party to share. You may have seen the first two posts of this party, here and here. Now, let’s move onto the back porch.
This is where people gathered as they arrived to hear some Texas Swing music from a rockin’ Texas band. I love a fiddle, and I loved their music, great job guys.
Mr. CH roped off an area off of our driveway for guests to park their cars. He mowed this area as well as our driveway. Yes, you heard correctly, he mowed the driveway. What can I say, only in the country!
My daughter and I cut lots of Bluebonnets for this party. I offered for guests to take the cut Bluebonnets home with them, but I didn’t have any takers. They mumbled something about cutting bluebonnets being illegal, and not wanted to get caught with them in the car. You would think I was trying to hand out illegal drugs. I did do some research since I had heard something like that before. I found that picking Bluebonnets is not illegal, but the things people do to get to the flowers is often illegal, like trespassing on private property.
I didn’t just fill up these Tony Lama’s with water. I put a glass jar in the boot and filled it with water, then added flowers to the jar. That worked quite well. Can you see the field of blue in the distance?
I also filled these Ikea vases with Bluebonnets.
I just love Bluebonnets.
In this photo below, you can see the pendants I made in a previous post.
I used my coke crate to display more Bluebonnets. I used empty small supplement bottles in each cubbie to hold water and flowers.
The table is covered with a drop cloth.
I wanted flowers in every corner.
I hope your guests appreciated the effort that went into the party as much as we have enjoyed looking at it!
WOW! The bluebonnets are gorgeous and I love all the different ways you displayed them, especially the boot. I have a cousin who lives in Texas and plays the fiddle and we love to hear her play when she comes to Kentucky!
Anita,
Sounds like a fun party. Those bluebells are so pretty. You are lucky to be surrounded by them.

The party looks like a blast, and I love the blue bonnets. I would have loved to take some home with me:) Beautiful hots. My hubby has the same stainless steel work table. Must be a man thing.
It looks fabulous! I know everyone had a wonderful time! The decorations are incredible- I adore your boot with the Bluebonnets! More pictures, please!
Oh my gosh, Anita! It’s simply magnificent! And you did it all with a sprained ankle! You go, girl!! That’s the kind of party I’d never want to leave. The band looks amazing, as well. Who were they?
Anita, that looks like just the most fun ever. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bluebonnet in person so I really enjoyed viewing all your lovely arrangements.

I would have loved to take some bluebonnets home! I was just looking them up, because I wasn’t familiar with them, it seems we can grow them over here. Now all I need to do is find out where to buy some seed!
Your party looks like it was a lot of fun.
I hope you have a very Happy Easter, Anita.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. And I just picked up a Pepsi crate yesterday. Love it all Anita.

The ways you displayed the flowers are lovely! I’m enjoying the bluebonnets so much this year. Glad to know it’s not illegal to pick them~I let my son pick some the other day & then he started worrying about getting in trouble:)
Thanks for sharing your party!
LOVE those flowers! And arranging them in the boots and crates is so pretty! If I was one of your guests I promise your bluebonnets would have been cleaned out. 🙂

Everything is beautiful, as always. Looks like a really fun day. Can’t wait to see more pics~
I LOVE bluebonnets too! They look so pretty in the coke crate and the boot!!! Great ideas! Love it! from one Texas gal to another!!
Anita, everything looks beautiful, and the bluebonnets really make a stunning backdrop for your party! I’m glad you cleared up the legal issues, I’d heard that before as well. The blue-violet flowers in those chartreuse glass vases look SO great! And the clever way you added every-day utilitarian containers to your vintage pieces and boots is something I need to file away for future reference…

I love a hoedown with lots of good homemade food and a band! I just found you through la Belle Epoque, and I got a little weepy reading about you, because I have a special needs daughter too. I will be back to see ya!
You make me proud to be a Texan! I love the bluebonnets and boots. Your ranch has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the Lone Star state. Fabulous job on your party my friend!
🙂 Samantha
What a fun get together, Anita. I don’t think you could have thought of a better way to display your bluebonnets than a red Tony Lama!
The bluebonnets have been really beautiful this year and look so gorgeous in the green fields, don’t they?
Wow! Anita you really have great taste. About Blue bonnets, I hear that a lot too, sometimes
I cut some from my own yard but in general I like them where they are, they look so beautiful by the road and I love looking at them on my way home. As always, Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos! 🙂
Oh, this whole scene really appeals to this Texas girl! Looks like a great time. I grew up believing picking bluebonnets was illegal…didn’t learn that it wasn’t until a I was an adult. I think the the powers that be are probably just fine letting us all believe it’s illegal though. 😉
Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

I wish I could have been there 🙂
Lovely details, Anita. Congrats!
What a fabulous party, just gorgeous! How are you feeling?

Anita, thanks for coming to my party but I think your party at the ranch is the one I’m sorry I missed. It must have been a fun party with good music, good food and a gorgeous setting. You Texans sure know how to throw a party! Hope your ankle is better!——– Shannon
Oh, I am so homesick. I am a displaced Texan now living in Utah and the one thing that I miss the most about home…The bluebonnets! I’ll take ’em all. Love your party ideas! What a wonderful party.
Lovely! Especially the coke crate with the blue flowers…so nice 🙂
Would love to find something similar!
