Using a Bread Board as Art

By Anita 17 Comments

country French kitchen with beams

I LOVE this wood bread board, I mean I LOVE it!!  It’s super-big which is what I need for my kitchen.  I think the rustic feel of the wood goes well with the beams in here and with the country French feel of the kitchen.

cutting-board

I had a tole tray here before, but I really like this wood bread board so much more. I’m so glad I asked the carpenter to make a ledge on the vent hood, so I would have a place to display something, should the mood strike.

thermador range

This is one of the many fabulous items from my equally fabulous partner Heritage Lace.  I think it’s pretty well priced too, since it is ginormous!!

This would be  a great piece to use during a party to serve food from.

But I like it just where it is.  To add a bit of color, I draped the dried pink roses on top of the board.

Yeah, the bread board is nice, but you can keep it if you just give me the kitchen. What a fabulous place!

Always inspired by you! The aged breadboard is a perfect accent to your fabulous new kitchen. So admire your lack of clutter while at the same time displaying floral and great dishes etc.

I am in awe of your Kitchen!!!
Just the sheer size of it makes my jaw drop! And yes! I’ll be honest! My cheeks are a little green with envy. (Okay, a little bit more than a little)
I agree with you on the bread board. I do feel it goes quite a lot better on the hood than the toile did on the back of the range.
I just need to know something though! How hard, or easy, is it to keep your cupboards completely organized and decorated when you have the glass fronts?
My husband just argues & argues that it would be a waste of money & time because I would just be constantly cleaning & organizing them “just in case someone comes over”. My response is “just put things back where they belong, and where they were. No problems then. ”
Do you have that problem? Or do you use those cupboards just for items not used very often?
No matter what-your kitchen is Ginormous!!! And completely and totally beautiful!!!
    I just absolutely ADORE it!
Thank you so much for the pictures!

Jackie, we use the dishes in the glass front cabinets every day. It’s no trouble at all. And there’s so much stuff there that if someone puts something back in a different place, I don’t usually even notice. Thank you!

I have been on the hunt for a round bread board that is not too thick and this one looks perfect, where is it from?
    Thank you!
