If you haven’t noticed before, our city house does not have the farmhouse look of the ranch. When I am in the city, I am finding that I miss that casual French Farmhouse style, so I am infusing country style into our city life little by little.
This is a collection whites and silver things on a vintage feedsack I am using as a table runner.
This is what I did have on my dining room table. I replaced my heavy brocade table runner with a simple vintage feedsack that I found on eBay. I love the “G.E.” intials on it, although the tray covers that part.
I added a large vintage English ironstone pitcher, also found on Ebay. (To see more English ironstone, click here.)
I found this little white pitcher at a consignment shop.
The silver tray and pitcher were purchased at a thrift store. (To see what else I got on this trip to my high-end thrift store, click here.)
This little sugar and creamer and also from my MIL. The lid to the sugar was missing, so I just stacked them.
What do you do to infuse country style to a room or just refresh it?
Interesting combos, Anita. I haven’t had much time or energy to visit but wanted to say hi. Lots going on around here and hopefully settling down soon.
Pat
Love your collections. I have flashes of vintage/country all over my house. It mixes so well with new furniture, or old. My sofas were purchased new last year, but I decided not to buy new coffee tables or end tables. Instead, I went to antique shops and consignment shops and found vintage pieces that I love. Still looking for a coffee table. I’m wanting an old trunk, but what I’m looking for exactly is hard to find.
Your little silver open container with scoop is called a sugar scuttle.
Betty
Dear Annita,
The tray with yours pitchers are beautiful !! I like the mixing silver and the porcelains !
Have a nice day

Pretty! I want a grain sack so bad. Yours is beautiful.
You asked what I put in a room to infuse/refresh it? I think the biggest thing is just moving things around, like you did. I might have book bundles on a shelf then pile them into an old wire basket on the mantle. Also, my mom was a floral designer. Many of her clients had her come out and refresh the dried arrangements with the seasons, which for me is simple things like switching pinecones for spring flowers.
Thanks Betty! I feel like I’m on Antiques Roadshow.
Well, today I sewed new curtains. I try to move things around, as you do, to give myself a different view in which to appreciate them.

I love your country combos. I move things around in my house too. If I don’t love it I get rid of it, but the things I love I keep.
Beautiful vignettes Anita and I love all your silver pieces! My mom gave me a similar piece like yours that you received from your MIL. She said it was used for sugar.
BB (before blogging) I would go shopping, be it thrift, garage, regular store, till I found something to infuse in a room. ABS (after blogging started) now I look at everything different and have been moving everything around to infuse every room.
Nothing is junk anymore, it goes to the garage till it can be resurrected as something else.

Oh so pretty. YOur little guy is a sugar scuttle. Either cubes or granules, then you use the scoop to measure it out. Love it. Great new vignette. Hugs, Marty
Isn’t it fun to change things up? I love changing things from room to room or just picking up one or two “new to me” things and adding them to my decor. I do love the feel of a farmhouse!
Anita,
I adore the Farmhouse French style…yours and mine! I love adding things from the country into my urban setting, as well. My in~laws were farmers on the Praire. Using heirlooms brings comfort to both my husband and I. My parents were both blue collar workers in the K.C. area. Only my Dad remains of the foursome. I move things to go from Farmhouse Fench to Old World Style and from Season to Season. By rotating decor items it allows us to recall fond memories of our childhood. Loved this post!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. Marty is correct about your darling piece. Now days many use these for nuts and mints when hosting luncheons and gatherings!
Hey I know what that little thing is! After being so disappointed that I couldn’t cram a bottle of wine into it, I found out it is a sugar shuttle! Who would of thunk it?!
Anita, I just love the farmhouse infusion in the city house! The silver looks amazing with the grain sack runner! This is fast becoming one of my favorite styles! Your photos are wonderful!
Love your vintage pieces! Your mystery item is a sugar scuttle…love it! It’s sometimes hard to find one with the scoop…lovely! Have a great week!…hugs…Debbie
You find the coolest things! I LOVE that English Ironstone pitcher. I like how you switch things up, too.

Fabulous collections. Thrift shops are tresure spots. The cream pitches are so pretty.
Your collections are so pretty. Itoo love to move things around, change em up and discover different ways to display my treasures….
Smiles,
Debbie
I was wondering too what the scoop thing was. I see several comments about a sugar scuttle. Fun how blogging gives you answers right away. Lori
Everything looks so pretty! I love your white pieces and how fortunate to have the little scoop to your sugar scuttle!
Love the vignette.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉

Love it all. Great ironstone and a great grainsack.
Love the silver pitcher. A nice grouping of elements! I’m getting the Farmhouse French-chic vibe!
Love the mix of silver! Your little guy is a sugar scuttle!!
Lovely, Anita. Each vignette is so pretty and soothing. I love the white ironstone. I always buy it when I find it at the thrift stores. And it pairs so nicely with the silver pieces. Coming over from Savvy Southern Style and I’m your newest follower. I love all things French. Please visit me if you get a chance!
Love, love, love the change you made on your table. Is there anything better than mixing ironstone and silver, topped off with a European grain sack. Perfect!!
Glad to be your newest follower, Mary Alice
Your pictures are beautiful, I’ve been to France – funny, I met folks who wanted to be cowboys.
I love all of your pitchers, specially the silver one. I don’t have much silver but I am on the look out for some pitchers to use as vases for my granddaughters blessing luncheon. I will be visiting my local auction house in the next several Saturdays, am sure to find one or two there.
Thanks for sharing.
Michele
I just love your collection of pitchers!
What a beautiful collection. I love the big white pitcher and the feedsack table runner – I have two similar vintage runners like that, and just love using them!
What a pretty collection! Love it. God bless x
Like you, our city house doesn’t have as many French touches as our rural residence. You’ve inspired me to imbue a little more French Country to the mix.
I love all of the little touches…especially the silver,
I to am trying to bring some vintage “back” into my decor…love the combo of the silver and the ironstone. I guess I have a sugar scuttle too…only I was told it was to serve nuts…hhmmm?
