This is a new bench I purchased when we had the house built at Cedar Hill. But it didn’t look exactly like this when I bought it.
I actually got the bench for a song (about $450 when it should have sold for about $2000). I got a great deal on it, because I believe it was missing some cushions for the back. It had one back cushion and two side cushions. Amazingly, I moved the side cushions around to the back, and viola!! It looked great to me. If you look closely in some of the photos, you might be able to tell that the back cushions are not all the same size. Also, the cushions came in a muslin fabric and needed to be covered.
I bought sage green fabric so it would coordinate with the sofa and chairs. This is another before picture from the back.
For the seat, I used a staple gun to staple the fabric on the underside.
For the back cushions, I made new covers. There is piping on the front and back, so they are reversible.
The bench has some lovely hand-carved detail, and distressing to make it look antique.
This really is a lovely bench and I enjoy it so much.

Wow, it really is beautiful! But then, I’m Swedish, so naturally I’m going to be fond of it! 🙂 I inherited our family Swedish wooden sofa, and I looove it, but it’s definitely not as pretty as yours!
Have a great weekend!

What a great find. I like the changes you made, but most of all I like the long, lean look. It’s perfect for holding lots of fun pillows. 😉

Wow, this is the bench I’m looking for. I’ve a little studio. I just want to have a bench like this, can have a rest for a break or lay down when I’m a bit tired. Wish I could find one or make it here !
