Guest room fluffing

By Anita 28 Comments

I have seen so many beautiful baskets in blogland, and I love the casually elegant and warm feel they give a room.  And so when I found this basket at Joss and Main, I knew it was coming home to my house.

I put it on a luggage rack at the foot of the guest room bed.  I filled it with a fluffy, soft white blanket, and a feather pillow in a crisp white pillowcase.

I love setting out things for guests so they can easily find what they need without asking, so the basket was a great place to keep a fresh pillow and an extra blanket.

I also added this small inherited basket to the top of the antique pine chest.

I want our guests to feel welcome here, and I hope this basket adds  warmth to the room.

What a wonderful idea! I love baskets also and this is wonderful use of one. If I just leave extra pillows or blankets out in the guest room it just looks like something I didn’t put away. But placed in the basket it is intentional. Very nice way to welcome your guests! I also save the hotel shampoos, soaps, etc and put in a basket in the bathroom for my guests in case they forget anything when they come to visit.

Love the basket and it is in one of my favorite colors. Baskets are wonderful! I have a large one at the end of my family room love seat. Perfect for extra quilts that you need to wrap up in on leather furniture. Love the mustard cabinet and the basket on top looks lovely as well.
    Hugs,
    Jann

The basket on the stand is a great idea. I too have a big one, but in the family room filled with pillows and a blanket for those snuggle movie nights.

It looks a very welcoming and comfortable room. Adding the extras guests might need is really thoughtful, because some people just don’t like to ask.

    Anita,
Love this idea.Your basket looks perfect. What lucky guests to be able to stay in that room! We have no room for guests in our home. Not because of the bedrooms we have four. But we use all of them for us LOL.We use on of the extra bedrooms for my daughter as her “Doll”Room and the other is soon to be my “Inspiration room”
