I purchased some new terracotta clay pots and painted them with the Annie Sloan Old White paint.
The tablecloth is a drop cloth purchased from Lowes. I love using these drop cloths, since they are very inexpensive and don’t require any sewing.
The green and purple cabbage bowls are from Portugal.
and these Mikasa plates. I know I said in a previous post, click here, that I was going to sell them, but here is what happened. Mr. CH said that since we wouldn’t get much money for them, we should keep them. I thought that was so sweet of him. Well, it turns out that Mr. CH is much more clever than I give him credit for. I now realize that since I kept these, I have zero room for more dishes. In fact, I don’t even have room for these.
I decided the only place I had for the Stratford Blue dishes is to bring them to Cedar Hill.
The silver is our very own Cedar Hill silver.
As the sun started to set, I lit a few candles for dinner.
Beautiful! I love your spoon chandelier!
The drop cloth is a great idea that I can’t wait to try. So simple and rustic and elegant all at the same time.
Drop cloth is brilliant!!!!
Very nice! I love the chandy too.

Your chandy really is so cute, Anita, and it makes the porch look so cozy. Drop cloths are such versatile pieces of fabric, aren’t they? I had to laugh- I think we are all out of room for our dishes. With me, the glassware takes up oodles of room, as well. But I keep seeing such fun china patterns everywhere! 🙂 Sue
This is such a pretty evening “supper” table, Anita. I love the chandelier!!
Absolutely beautiful Anita!! I just love your silverware chandelier!! Martina

What a simply beautiful table. Because it is not cluttered, each element becomes important.
Using painted pots gives it an organic element…. so fresh!

I looked at the photo of the table with the view of the back yard and just took in a deep breath and relaxed for a second. I am a “country girl” who has been living in the “city” for many years now and I yearn for open spaces……..Beautiful!
