This is Western Yarrow, based on my research.
We had so much blooming earlier this spring, that I grabbed a big pail and filled it with Yarrow and Firewheels. The Firewheels didn’t survive well in my vases, but the Yarrow did.
I had enough for a couple of vintage Ironstone vases.
It just makes me so happy seeing the flowers. What makes you smile?
Flowers and birds and my sweet dogs make me smile! Such pretty pitchers.

I’m loving your wildflowers, too.
I would have to say that my Garden, filled with Hydrangeas and Roses AND my Pups (3 of them) make me smile!! Well really, I’m not smiling much these days – can’t, cuz about a month ago, I got Bell’s Palsy! My smiles kind of look like this :/ LOL!!
Have a great day!

Flowers make me smile too Anita! Yours look beautiful in all your pretty pitchers!
Anita, your flowers are lovely! They always make me smile too! My Yarrow isn’t nearly as pretty as this though! Your photos are stunning! It’s a breath of fresh air to see them!
Just lovely — there is nothing like fresh flowers IN the house, especially when you’ve grown them yourself! This hot, sunny weather makes me smile as does the site of my pole beans winding up around their frames more and more each day!
Your wildflowers are gorgeous!
How lovely to be able to step out your door to a field of beautiful flowers. Your pretty pitchers make the best vases!

I understand how those beautiful flowers make you smile. They make me smile, too. I enjoy wildflowers very much growing in a field or along the roadway. I don’t bring them inside because I would have a sneezing fit. My Mom cut a huge bouquet once of Queen Ann’s Lace and some other pretty wildflowers and was so proud of how she arranged them. That is the day we discovered that there would be no more free bouquets from the field out back. LOL

Flowers in a lovely pitcher would definitely make me smile…and honestly, I would do my happy dance right now if someone would hand me a chocolate chip cookie. :o)
Anita, those are so pretty and I love them in both containers. I have been bringing in flowers this year, too.
How wonderful to have fields of flowers! They look beautiful in your pitchers. Flowers always make me smile too… my family, cooking, spending time outside… sometimes it’s the simplest things.
Those little flowers make me smile indeed! Wonderful photos! 🙂
They look perfect in your gorgeous pitchers. What gifts Nature provides.
My favorites are Annabelle hydrangeas, but ours aren’t ready to cut until August. Your wildflowers look lovely in their pitchers.
Gorgeous! It reminds of me of fresh baby’s breath, which is one of my favorites.
You have a fine appreciation of the beautiful things God has made for us to enjoy. Those are the ones that make me smile the most. They are usually seemingly simple things, the kind that are fleeting though, like morning light and the blooms of our favorite flowers. That and our kids whose teeny tiny voices and chubby fingers grow fast and surprise us when we look over and they are grown and those moments are gone. Thankfully others come in to take their place. Nevertheless, each one is so valuable. I guess that means we really should have something to smile about just about all of the time if we just look around, don’t we?

Anita,
Lovely yarrow, reminds me of the wild “Queen’s Anne Lace” that grow in the SouthEastern side of the Prairie! Your vintage ironstone pitchers are stunning, especially when mixed with the silver! What makes me smile??? SUNFLOWERS…On Crooked Creek!
Fondly,
Pat
The yarrow looks fabulous in the vase. I don’t know what firewheels are though. Sounds like a great thing to go from the ranch to the city! You get to enjoy both worlds! What makes me happy is seeing my plants coming back to life and flowering. After our long winters it’s always a treat to see all this life emerge and bring forth all it’s beauty!
Anita,
Nothing looks prettier than flowers and ironstone! You are surrounded by beauty! What makes me happy is spending the summers with my daughter and family outings together.Have a great weekend.
((Hugs))
Anne
Anita, These frilly wildflowers looks just so pretty in your pictures! I would have a hard time leaving the ranch!!!!
I am new to your blog, it is just lovely! I was thinking that you actually lived in Cedar Hill, TX… until I saw the comment on this post about the flowers you bring to the city remind you of Cedar Hill? Where do you live? I’m asking because I’m thinking we may just be right at each others back doors!! I live in Burleson, TX! I’ll follow you…follow back if you’d like!
