Floral Frog from Scotch Tape

By Anita 17 Comments

I love a floral frog. I mean it holds the flowers in place so they don’t droop or fall out of the vase or planter.  The problem was I has camillas cut from my yard, and they have very very short stems.

And I was hosting a luncheon  and wanted an arrangement with the camillas in an inherited pink vintage planter.

Soooo, I decided to try using tape to make a frog.  I just put a few pieces horizontally across the planter and then a few vertically across the planter.  It took me maybe a minute, and voila, I had a usable floral frog.

Here’s how it looked when I was finished.

Cost – free
Degree of difficulty – easy

That’s my kind of project.  Does this count as being crafty?

Very good idea, I have done it before with painters tap I never thought scotch tape would hold up. Now it is good to know that it will.

This is a great idea. I will have to remember this for summer when I am clipping flowers from my yard to enjoy in the house.

Florists do this for any arrangement they do in a vase but they use floral tape. It is clear also but thinner. That was very creative of you to think of it!! The camelias are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! XO, Pinky
