Paint really has trans formative powers. It can make things look totally different. Today, I’m sharing four paint projects involving chairs. I painted all of these chairs, and love the new look.
I sometimes buy furniture that looks really dated, give it a coat of paint, and then it looks perfect! Here are my four painted chair projects.
Beautiful transformations! I agree about the dated pieces especially — once you look past the crushed velvet, you can usually see what a coat of paint and new fabric can do! Love that bistro set!
Amazing what paint and effort can do. Your chairs, and of course your homes, are lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Love all your Blogs. Especially this one on chairs.
Anita your chairs are beautiful! I just did a post on my blog Anne’s Attic – Design http://fulcolbaxia.wordpress.com on the Old World Patina. It really turned out nice. Check it out and please follow me. I’m trying to get 25 to follow me!
Thanx so much ! It’s all LOVERLY! JO
I have a French bistros set that I have wanted to paint for the longest time. It has that grey weathered look on the wood. Don’t know if I want to ruin that patina. Decisions….decisions.
I am always amazed at what a coat of paint can do. I love the old metal chair it would look great outside on my patio. I have finally finished my home office and posted the ‘reveal’ today, I hope you get a chance to pop over and take a look. At the last minute last week I painted my Louis chair in French Grey chalk paint, I am pleased with how it has come out but now thinking maybe I should have done it a different colour than my desk…wondering if it is too matchy, matchy.
Lee 🙂
I just took a break from painting! So nice to see all your beautiful painted chairs!
You have the greatest chairs, whether they are new, antique, or vintage.. !!!!
Well done, Anita. I think I love every danged one of those awesome chairs- but especially ♥ the metal one. Lubs that.
Anita- I haven’t necessarily bought old chairs to paint, although I am painting my once upon a time new chairs that now look old.
I love the look you created w/ just paint, labor and love! I’m kicking myself in the tail for getting rid of my old bisttro set after seeing this!
