It was made with gesso and wood; a century’s old technique no longer used. It’s just easier and much cheaper now to make frames out of resin.
This mirror had lots of age cracks.
I love all of this chippy detail.
I had this mirror on the wall in the dining room when I took these photos.
Great mirror. I think it will be fantastic in your new bathroom. Can’t wait to see your new mirror. Hugs, Marty
I love it Anita!!
Love the cracked finish and can’t wait to see the new one.
Looks like a craigs list score!

This mirror has so much character. Very pretty, indeed.

Wow- That is a amazing piece, Anita. I would have snapped it up, too.
I see you got the same thing above that I did-I have seen it on most blogs I visited this morning…xo Diana
I know it will look beautiful in the new bathroom. I can’t wait to see photos of the new house all decorated.
Amazing mirror! You have a beautiful blog. I’m happy to find you. I’m your newest follower!

I love the aged look and all the chipped paint. This mirror has a story to tell, yet it seems to be a quiet presence on the wall. It will look lovely in its new home – can’t wait to see those photos!
XOXO,
Meredith
I absolutely love this. The age adds so much caharm. I have one very similar but much newer and it just doesn’t have the same charm!
Oh, wasn’t this your lucky day? It is beautiful!
Such a beautiful mirror and the finish is perfect! Can’t wait to see the new one! 🙂
Cindy
I’m liking old mirrors stacked on old mirrors which is odd given my age 🙂
Anita, it’s gorgeous! I love that we are all using vintage pieces with so much character in our homes. You found a jewel!
Pretty!!
