Thanks for hanging in here with me. I have been away for a few weeks. Hubby needed a vacation since his mom’s passing, and we needed to check on her North Carolina mountain cabin. (More about that later!) I am back, but still pretty tied up with estate stuff, and being a mom. My fifteen-year-old has her permit and somehow it is mom’s job to ride with her while she learns to drive. (Personally, I would prefer that someone would just wake me up when it is all over and she has her license.) I want very much to have time for the blog. I miss all of you, REALLY. I love reading everyone’s blog and seeing all of your sweet comments.
Since my surprise breakfast for my daughter, I redid my woodlands retreat.
Here’s a picture of the table and chairs before. To see more, click here.
This is the way the table and chairs looked when I got them at the auction. I thought they looked okay, but wanted a softer, cleaner look. I selected the color, Opera Glasses from Valspar, that I used on the rockers on my front porch, click here to see.
I was inspired by the table and chairs I saw at Rachel’s Ashwell’s B&B (click here to see post) shown below.
I brought along a plate of fruit and coffee to enjoy this morning.
I also brought some purchased fresh flowers for my table. The vase is an old vintage Mason jar of my mom’s.
The dishes are some my mother-in-law gave me years ago. They are made in Bavaria, I believe.
Here’s a closer look at one of the chairs.
The tablecloth is a vintage tea towel, although it is so large that I used it for a tablecloth.

What a dreamy setting and you have it set up so beautifully! I do like the color you painted the table and chairs. We’ve been seeing and doing so many mason jars to try to look like the real vintage one from your mother. We’ve missed you and look forward to more of your great posts when things settle down at your house.

I am in LOVE with that mason jar! What a treat and the fact that it is passed down makes it all the more dreamy! 🙂

I love the new color! It reveals the beautiful pattern of the chairs, whereas the green blended in with the woods. Absolutely perfect color choice!
I’m so sorry you have to drive with your 15-year old…

My d-i-l is driving with my grandson right now too! I know he will be so excited to get his license next month, however, that’s when the real worry starts. We tell him…like I told my kids…it’s the other drivers we’re concerned about.
Your furniture is beautiful in this lighter shade. I know you’re going to enjoy it more IF & WHEN our weather cools. 🙂
