Stunning Classic Home

By Anita 49 Comments

I wondered what my top blog post was of all time, so I did a little research and found that the top viewed blog post on my blog isn’t even of my house! What?

Oh well. It’s a gorgeous home. I wrote about this home tour 3 years ago, so unless you been following my blog for a long time, you might have missed it. I thought I would share it with you again today. It’s still gorgeous and I still love it. This home was built by my builder, and it was actually his home until he built another much bigger home recently. Up front (since I know someone is going to ask) I will say I do not know any of the paint colors. The counter top is White river granite, but that’s all the info I have for you on this house.

Okay let’s get on with the tour.

Did I mention I love my job?

Well I do!!  I just did my first photo shoot for Ridgewater Homes, Inc. and it was a blast. Come on and I’ll show you around.  This home is in the Houston Heights.

The kitchen is scrumptious with this huge island and dreamy 48 inch professional Thermador gas stove.

I love these pendant lights over the island.

You’ve got style, but which one? The podcast episode below describes several decorating styles, and it may help you select the best style for you.

The living room is open to the kitchen.

Isn’t this a nice spot to read a book?  I love all of the trim work here.

And what an adorable little girl’s room!!

The master has this wonderful paneled wall behind the bed and lots of light coming in through the windows. Don’t you love those floors?

These double doors open up to a breath-taking bathroom.

This room is big enough for dancing, welll I mean, if you wanted to…

Did you notice the chandy?

And what about that tub?

What’s better than a gorgeous chandy in the dining room? Can you say “TWO”?

It looks like every other new house. Living room in the kitchen basically and the bathroom looks down right cold. Sorry I love your site and taste but this place looks unloved and unlived in. Also the dining room put in a regular room off to the side there looks wierd, The only room I likes was the babies room it was softer and warmer.

I like that you revisit prevuoustours. The kitchen is fabulous. And the marble ledge by the tub is unique and so useful – maybe to hold a glass of wine while soaking. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I agree with one of your readers comments above, lots of neat ideas but it didn’t look like a warm and cozy house, maybe it was staged but the kitchen (i loved the marble counter and stove), but there was no heart, the little girls room was the same…I think maybe its just a matter of taste.

Living in TX, too ~ in the Dallas area ~ I see familiar things that might be common to homes recently built in and around our big cities. I love it all! I do think that just having lots of extra, open space can add a “less than warm” look to homes. And being totally uncluttered can emphasize that feeling …
One thing I did notice was not a part of the home itself, but that unique and awesome chest in the baby’s room! What a spectacular way to finish the drawers and door front! I would love to try to replicate even a few of the ideas that were used on it.
For me, my creative mind is always “spinning,” so seeing a gem of an *idea!* like this in a tour is thrilling!
So thanks for repeating this tour ~ I’m a new enough follower to have missed the original share … ! kj

If you can’t find it in the comments, I suggest trying to reach the builder. I don’t know where the owner found them.
