Round Top was especially fun for me this time, since I missed it in the spring. I had sprained my ankle the weekend before when we had our pasture picnic at the ranch, so that show was a no-go for me. My friend Caroline went with me this time.
We got lots of goodies, that I’ll show you later, since I already have too many photos of the show for one post. This Fall’s show was wonderful, such eye candy at Marburger.
Most of these photos were taken at Marburger Farms. This antique piece below was just as gorgeous in person.
I took some up close photos so you could see the authentic antique finish, at least that’s what I was told. It’s so hard to tell any more.
The piece below had a $650 price tag on it, but the owner offered it to us at $400. I wasn’t in the market for a table, but I was still quite tempted.
I love the idea of converting a crib into a settee ($1400) this one was also offered to me at a special price. I told the dealer, although it was fabulous, it would have to be VERY special price for me to buy it. The price wasn’t even in the right zip code.
This armoire had me weak in the knees, or maybe it was the heat; I’m not sure.
At the Texas Rose in Warrenton, one dealer was selling Miss Mustard Seed’s milk paint.
Purple is in now, too bad I don’t have my purple sofa any more, NOT!
I love these linens. Caroline took their card, so maybe she’ll be buying some later. Reminds me of my daybed cover.
Their cushions and pillows were also beautiful.
Look at the closure detail!
I’m getting all kinds of ideas.
After the show we saw this little guy.
Caroline adored him. We had seen a zebra rug at the show, and that really made her sad. At first I thought it was just a zebra print on leather, but upon closer inspection, it was a real zebra rug. I rushed her on down to another booth, grabbing a linen grain sack, and saying, “LOOK Caroline, P-R-E-T-T-Y.” She was actually pretty easy to distract.
I took several photos of him, but didn’t think you wanted the entire slide show. (Caroline made me.) While we were pulled over taking photos, another car of antiquers stopped beside our car to make sure we were okay. That’s when we told them our about buddy, Z. Yup, you guessed it, they pulled over too, and started taking photos.
It was a good day, but I was exhausted.
This sounds like such a great fieldtrip! And the treasure there… swoon!!!!
Just think how many things we could actually make!!! LOVE the painted furniture!
Anita- I was just living vicariously through your Round Top trip! I miss this fall for the first time in six years, so thanks for a little inspiration to lift my spirits. Love that place with all the linens. Saw them last year and wanted to snuggle up in that bed! See ya next year!

Look at all those gorgeous antiques. I would need so much money to shop there because I would want it all. I love those linens you showed. Wonder if they sell on line.
Looks like great fun! I went in the spring but, missed the fall… So much eye candy to see there. I know I already have 5 girls (from California)here for the up coming spring show. LOVE those linen pillow cases. Were they from Sweet Pea Home? I soooo want to do them like you did. I can’ thank you for sharing your fabric source.
The zebra rug… oh so sad. We stayed in a B&B once & they had one on the floor. I couldn’t stand it. YUCK!!!! His ears were crunchy. I wouldn’t walk on it… walked all around the outside of the room. POOR BABY! I’m just not into dead stuff on my floors or walls. So much prettier in your photos. Born Free………….
Thanks for sharing!
I am completely coming down from a sugar high from all that amazing eye candy! I’ve spend far too long gawking. Wow, I would love to spend an afternoon (or two or three) wandering through all those amazing finds.

Bravo for the french accent…
Anita,
Lovely photos of your trip to Round Top!!! I adored your story of the offer for assistance along the roadside. I still believe there are MANY good people in our world! Wish our news and TV shows would tune into those types of offerings on our media!!!
Glad you had a GREAT day with your friend…I’ll be watching for your finds soon!
Fondly,
Pat

Oh, Anita! We are so alike. I am drooling over those linens. And like you so many ideas! I love linens. Old and new alike! So many lovely things. I hope to make it to Round Top one of these days.
I LOVE Roundtop! When we lived near Austin, we’d go often to eat at Royer’s. I’ve posted a picture to today’s post, in fact.
Have a great weekend!
