Our Farmhouse Bath

By Anita 19 Comments

I have never shown this room on my blog before.

Well I’ve shown pieces of it, but never the whole room before.   It’s a simple room, with no granite or marble. A simple pine floor and bead board give it the farmhouse feel.   The counter top is tile and the shower curtain is one I made from burlap.

It’s small too, and well all of the rooms at the farm are small.

There aren’t even two sinks in here, just the one.  It’s a stark contrast with our city bathroom.

And yet, it has a rustic, simple charm that really appeals to me. It’s cozy.

We often arrive at the farm late at night, and when I wake up in the morning, at first I think I am still in the city, until I open my eyes.  When I realize where I am, I always smile.  I think everyone should have a place that makes them smile.  But really how could this glorious view not make me smile?

cozy, comfy, country simplicity .. so lovely. we, too have a ‘city’ house and country cabins … and i adore both. and like, you, when i get ‘to the woods’, i just want to sit and listen to the nature sounds.

Who cares if no granite countertop? It’s very lovely and homey and with a view like yours, it’s perfect, right? Thanks for sharing.

I noticed your share buttons on the side of this post for FB, Twitter, etc. My own blog is just 3 months old and I was wondering what this is called so I could attempt to add it, too. I’ve seen often lately. I’m WPress, too. Thank you!

Rustic in the country, sleek in the city. Just as it should be. And that view! Sigh….

    Hi Anita!!!

    I love your farmhouse bathroom!!!

It’s much warmer looking than your city one(which I like)!!! The teapot/water warmer lamp is also nice!!! I have a silver teapot that is itself is the light. Your view sure is gorgeous and you can’t get that in the city!!!

While your city bathroom is exquisite I’m a farm kind of gal so prefer that one. We only have one sink but a longer counter top so we get along just fine. Why two sinks weren’t put in I have no idea, we bought our house “used”.
I love that burlap shower curtain. I’ve been thinking of taking door off our shower stall to hang a shower curtain and would love look of a burlap curtain, maybe even make one for the window. I feel really lucky that we have a window in our bathroom. That was one of things that helped me choose our house. I hate a bathroom with no window, need my fresh air when it’s nice enuf to have it open.
Did you line your burlap shower curtain? It looks heavier so thought maybe you had.
Think I’d get lost in your city bathroom, I’d hate to have to clean it. I’m too practical. It sure is gorgeous and I’m jealous of you for having it.
As for a view, yours sure is peaceful, loving that. We’re little higher so we have a great view on about 3 sides of us. We live in rural area west of Grand Junction, CO. Happy New year

      JaneEllen,

We used a shower liner that is hanging behind the burlap shower curtain. I do use a plastic liner behind all of my fabric shower curtains.
