My Interior Paint Selections – New House Update

By Anita 44 Comments

Oh yes the house is painted. It’s painted!! Finally it’s beginning to look like the pictures I have had in my head for months. I am so excited I’m going to show you what the house looks like, but keep in mind, it’s a mess still.  The construction is still going on, so all of the photos are “as is”… no staging and I didn’t even bother to pick up the workers’ drink cups.  So please bear with me.
Someone asked if we have a large family because we chose such a large refrigerator freezer. The answer is no. We just LOVE food, and we love having a big place to store our food. Do I really need to explain this?

The floor is in the process of being refinished, so don’t mind the streaks. Here Jonathon is adding the hardware to my cabinets. (If you follow me on Facebook, you will know that since I wrote this post, the floors have been finished.

I love, love these chandeliers over the island. If it weren’t for spell check I wouldn’t even be able to write “chandelier” here because I have no idea how to spell it.
You can see into the butler’s pantry from here. The shelves are for my dishes. I have so many, I’m going to have to decide which are my favorites so I can decide which ones to display.

Below is the breakfast room with the rather large built-in plate racks. Oh yes I’ll be needing those.

Here we have the new Thermador dishwasher. Did you notice the farmhouse sink? The faucet will be installed later this week.

Here’s the foyer and a good look at the the paint selections I made.

The wall is SW agreeable gray,

the cabinets, trim and wainscoting is SW eider white,

and the doors, study built ins, and the closet built-ins are SW pussywillow.

Now we are looking into the dining room.

These armoires below are built-in cabinets I asked the carpenter to make. He did an awesome job by the way. I have since antiqued these pieces, so stay tuned for the post. (You can see a preview on Facebook. Be sure to like Cedar Hill Ranch so you can stay up to date on the progress.)

And did you see the doors above the fireplace? That is where the TV will hide. Personally I don’t care for the thing (the TV) but my family disagrees.

This is the study. I love how these bookcases turned out.

And lastly this is the vanity in the powder room downstairs. I picked out a marble vessel sink that will sit on top of that vanity, then the faucet will come out of the wall. I’m pretty pumped about seeing this finished.  I’ve antiqued this piece too, and will be sharing it here soon. (Preview on Cedar Hill Ranch’s Facebook page.)

It looks amazing and it seems like your builder and trades are working hard….it’s nice to see how everything falls into place. Your colors are amazing…and I think we are granite sisters….Is that granite a greyish/white with purple/burgundy specs dotted though out? If it is, then it re-affirms that I have good taste…LOL

    P.S. I cant spell chandy either….so I cheat.

What a stunning kitchen! It certainly evoke a French feel. Love everything about it! Boy, sure wish I had room for a refrigerator your size! My kitchen is tiny, tiny, tiny. It’s a little galley kitchen. Love how your kitchen opens to the living room. The counter is gorgeous and I love the beams! I know you’re running on adrenaline and pumped to the max about your new home. It will be even more fun when you begin to put the furniture in. What is your timeline for moving in?

I LOVE your SW paint colors in greys. My husband just painted our bedroom a SW grey, but the name escapes me. I also LOVE your fireplace. Ours needs painted or uplifted or magic? My husband disagrees and doesn’t want to paint it. We shall see.
    I so enjoy your blog!

Your home is gorgeous! I am looking at paint swatches and our cabinets and trim is Eider white — I’ve also been looking at Agreeable Gray for the walls. I know it has been a while since you posted and painted, so curious if you love the color still just as much. I’m just worried there won’t be any contrast. I don’t want a ton, but I still want you to be able to tell a difference 🙂

    Thank you!
