Well out of the blue, WHAM!
It happened..
My baby got another year older…
then another, and another, until… I turned around to discover
She was no longer a little girl, but
a beautiful, grown woman.
It’s official today. She can sign anything legally for herself. She is old enough to vote, she is 18.
I’m happy for her and proud of the woman she has become. She is full of love, life and enthusiasm.
When my girls were little they used to visit their grandparents overnight a lot on weekends. When Gram and Grandy brought them back on Saturdays, I would open the door to see a smiling little girl who had fun, but was excited to see her mama. The strange thing is what I remember about those days. I would hear the car pull up, then little feet scampering to the front door, followed by the door bell ringing, as she waited not so patiently for me to open the door. I will never forget how I would open the door and look at where I expected her little head to be, only to see her shoulders. I always under-estimated her height by about 10 inches or so. She was usually much taller than I last remembered. But if you are a mom, you know exactly where I am going here. She will always be my little baby.
Happy Birthday Evie! I love you!!
