Third time’s a Charm

By Anita 23 Comments

Please tell me I’m not the only one.  And when I say “the only one” I mean the only one who moves things about here and there, constantly tweaking.
See the lamps above?  They came from the bedroom below.  Of course I painted them with my homemade chalky paint, so the green didn’t fight with the red chest.

Here’s what I had in here earlier.

I prefer the white lamps to these here.  Sometimes a contrast works best, and sometimes continuity works best. In this case I prefer the consistency of the white, maybe because I already have so much going on with the design on the chest.  The best part is that I didn’t buy anything new to achieve my new look, I simply moved things around, and added a little bit of paint.

You do that too?  I knew it!

Very nice! I also like the continuity of the white that you’ve done. It gives a whole new look to the red chest, more playful, less formal.

I especially like the stepladder hung over the chairs!

I love doing this kind of thing! My mind is racing right now, ready to redo my sunroom, just in time for lazy afternoons!

    Have a great weekend!

Yes! I do it constantly! I can’t resist buying things that go great in my house and so I have a lot of different things to use in the same rooms. I change them out seasonally and in between just to use all the stuff! Love your end result!

You are not alone for sure, but sometimes I think I’m the only one who rarely moves things around!

No, you are not alone, Anita! : ) Moving things around is a great way to shop the house and I always try to do that before I go out and buy something new.

Yeah, yeah, yeah…you got me! I’m a “tweaker”, too! Tweaking is what makes the world go round! It shows that we’re really paying attention, I think. I do that with my tablescapes, my home decor, and my personal clothing. Some would call it OCD, but I call it DIT (Doin’ It Right!) 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

Anita, I love the black with the white and the red of the chest! Very very pretty! If I’m not mistaken, at one time you wanted to paint that gorgeous chest! So glad that you didn’t!
You have such a signature style, my dear!!! LOVE IT!

I think it’s safe to say you are NOT the only one who does this! I change things out for the seasons and it’s always fun to pull out things from season to season that you have forgotten you had!

    Anita,
    WoW!!!
What a simplistic, yet splendid change!!! Love the chest and the switch of lighting is very complimentary!!! Great job, dear friend!!!
I continually move things around (“Mr. Ed” states everytime I dust…which is often!), but some areas more than others!!!
Found that now I’m ‘out~in~the~garden’ more often, I do the same thing there, as well.
    Change is constant!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat
