Shabby Chic B&B

By Anita 9 Comments

I have written several posts on private tour I took of Rachel Ashwell’s B&B, and this is the final installment on that tour.

If you missed the previous posts, and you want to see them, you can find them here.

Some of you have asked just how many photos I took when I visited, and clearly the answer is a number too high to count.

This is the Liliput Lodge; you can find it on Rachel’s map here.

I love rockers on a porch.

Nice detail over the transom above the doors allows light in during the day.

Can you say “funky pink”?

Rachel has tons of chippy furniture here.

I love white sofas, but I am not sure how she keeps them so clean-looking in a B&B.

Notice all of the parts that have chipped off the mirror. I would have been tempted to get rid of it, but not Rachel.

This bed looks so restful.

The bathrooms have lots of vintage charm.

And here is the large kitchen.

If you were wondering if Rachel has a sense of humor, my guess would be “yes” based on madame deer.

And this concludes the tour of THE PRAIRIE BY RACHEL ASHWELL… really… this is it… I promise… until I visit again.  Well, I can’t promise I won’t go back, because I hear she has opened an adorable shop there.  So until next time…

Great job with the tour! I love the curtains billowing out with the breeze in the bedroom shot. It really adds to the charm. I can just imagine the wonderful smell of the air. I would stay away from the shop too. You could cause lots of trouble there!

Thanks for the tour. I love it but some of would look shabby in my house instead of chic…but she pulls it off!

Cute, cute cottage. My hubby just wouldn’t GET it though, he would think she should throw it all out and get new stuff:):) XO, Pinky

I live in Alberta Canada and is a dream of mine to one day stay at the Prairie and go the the Round Top antique show while I am there. That would be the best trip ever.

As one who has stayed in several B&Bs over the years as well as owning and operating one in my home for a while, this post definitely caught my interest.
I was very surprised to see that everything was decorated so sparsely. I expected everything to be more of the shabby chic style she is so popular for. This is definitely different than the norm for B&Bs in decorating style but I like it. It all looks very beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
