Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic B&B, Part 3

By Anita 5 Comments

I loved touring Rachel Ashwell’s B&B, The Prairie, and thought we would continue our tour today. Here is the covered porch on the “big house”.  For more photos of the big house, you can see Part 1 here, and Part 2 here.  I guess I should mention that I was not compensated in any way for these posts.  I found the place to be quite charming and thought my blog friends might enjoy seeing it.  I know most of you live pretty far away, but who knows, you might enjoy a visit some day.  If you are interested, you can find more info on the B&B here.

I loved the fun, rusty tulip-shaped light on the porch.
Below is a photo of the big house kitchen we saw in Part 2.  These doors to the right of the frig, go into the linen closet.
Here’s a peek into the linen room.
Even the linen closet has rusty, shabby chic lighting.
As you exit the back porch, you will find this wonderful patio area.  The building behind the chairs is a guest house we’ll be touring next time.

I had to get a photo of some of the old bricks in the patio floor.  I didn’t notice that nail there until I  enlarged the photo.

The patio sitting area can be entered from the house, or from this lovely walkway.

There’s a clothes line nearby.  I think this is the same one you will see on Rachel’s website for the B&B, click here.  I see clothes pins on it, so maybe it is still used.

Thank you for visiting my little corner of blogland. As I write, our contractor is braving the triple-digit Texas heat to build our creekside deck.  I am away from the ranch this week, so I don’t have pictures yet, but I look forward to sharing that project with you soon.  But maybe that will wait until the temperatures are little more bearable.

So charming. Love that walkway, clothesline and how the bricks have Texas on em! I’d love a linen closet like that.
Can’t wait to see how your deck turns out…what a brave man for working in this weather.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Beautiful and inspiring! That clothesline is ripe for hanging vintage quilts.
