Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic B&B, Part 2

By Anita 9 Comments

I began our tour of Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic B&B, The Prairie in a recent post, click here, and now let’s continue the tour.  Most of these photos were taken in “The Big House” as Lisa calls it.  Lisa, along with Danny, run The Prairie.  This is such a fun desk and chair.

As you enter the B&B, you will see The Prairie star on the foyer floor,

while you are greeted by this fun, crystal chandelier with the floral shades.

This is the living room.  The sofa and chair have been slipcovered in simple cotton fabrics.  The coffee table is an antique weathered piece.

Here we have the dining room. The dining table is reminiscent of the coffee table in the living room.

As you leave the dining room, you will enter the very shabby, chippy kitchen area.

For an island, Rachel is using an old antique table with turquoise legs.  My friend Peggy, who is from Nawlins (New Orleans) pronounces it “ter-kwaz”.  So I enjoy seeing anything that color because I can hear her saying “ter-kwaz” in my head.

There’s still a lot more to show of my private tour.  Also you can go to Rachel’s website, The Prairie, for more information as well, click here.

So glad to know that there are others out there who pronounce “ter-kwaz” correctly! Anita, sure wish I had been with you when you went to the Prairie and to Louise’s beautiful home. So much fun – so pretty!
