I thought it would be lovely to share some of my favorite books with you, well not my actual books, just the recommendations, because, you know, we don’t exactly live next door.

Well of course my book is on my book shelf, but you knew that, right?

Now there are so many wonderful books, but I just got this book and it is quite amazing. This is a compilation of Charles Faudree’s work. Charles Faudree Country French Legacy is chocked full of photos. It’s a very big book and has photos from many houses in it. It’s one of my very favorites. If you don’t know about Faudree, you are in for a treat. He layers detail on detail in every room. There is so much to take in. Each room is full of rich details.
I also have this Charles Faudree book. They are both amazing books. If you can’t afford the one above, I would get this one. But of course if you can get the Legacy book above, I would! I can’t remember how much overlap there is, so I am not sure I would recommend getting both.
Another favorite of mine has been around for awhile, but it is filled with some amazing rooms, Patina Style by Brooke Gianetti. Her study was a major inspiration for my study. The style is elegant with many, many antiques. She has such elegance and simplicity in her rooms.
Brooke and Steve Gianetti bought a farm, and what they did with it… wow! It’s amazing. You really will be amazed, with all of the details inside as well as outdoors. It has a very antique Italian feel, while also feeling very modern. It’s worth getting both of these books, since both books are very different. The style overlaps, but I don’t remember any of the photos being the same.
French Home is full of beautiful, inspiring photos. It’s beautiful all the way around. I love looking at the photos for inspiration.
These Annie Sloan books are full of how to information for creating an amazing paint finish. I love all three and it would be hard to pick just one. They are all excellent.
Each one highlights different projects, so I would look at the table of contents and see which projects you want to see. I have all three of these Any Sloan books, so that’s an option too.
This book focuses on the French look, so it’s a favorite for me.
Now for a few books that I really want, but haven’t bought yet… Thiese books had great reviews and looked like they would be worth the investment.
What’s on your bookshelf? I’m always looking for new books, so please share your favorites in the comments.

I absolutely love French Country design. All of your book recommendations are wonderful! I have the Charles Faudree book along with several of his other books. Last week in Tulsa, there was an estate sale featuring his personal items. My thoughtful husband purchased his French Pastry Table and a Rooster Lamp for me as an early birthday present. I wrote a blog about it Monday. There are several pictures if you would like to see them. I love reading your blog, and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!!!
