Something I am pretty crazy about right now is vintage Florentine anything. Isn’t this tray gorgeous? It’s vintage Florentine.
This tray below is also a Florentine tray.
May beautiful vintage Florentine items are out there, including this Gold Florentine jewelry box in my girls’ bathroom.
I also love the Florentine nesting trays that are all the rage.
I could go on and on, but you get the point; these pieces are gorgeous! The gold is so beautiful and elegant.
So this month while do my virtual shopping for Ruby Lane, I thought I would focus on Florentine items. Each month I do some viritual shopping for my sponsor Ruby Lane, who is the fabulous sponsor for this post.
Okay let’s get started.
This piece features the Madonna and Child. The gilt and the color are so beautiful and the shape is so lovely. It’s truly a work of art. This piece looks like it stands on its own as the sides are hinged. These Florentine pieces were super popular in the 60’s and 70’s. Now they are really making a resurgence. (Click on the image for more info.)
This square box has such lovely color with the gilt and the pink, with just a hint of turquoise. It is a box with a hinged lid, so it would be great for storing something small. I love the scalloped edges, and how the gilt goes all around the box, even on the bottom. (Click on the image for more info.)
Now the tissue boxes are my very favorite all of these pieces, because we all have tissues in our houses, right? I like to use a cover over mine, but the simple stainless steel covers I had over my tissue boxes didn’t really go with my fancy French decor. So when I discovered my first Florentine tissue box, I fell in love! I have 3 of these, and this one is a great price. If no one buys it, then I will! These are usually too small for an entire box of tissues, so I just remove the tissues from their cardboard dispenser and them as many as will fit into my Florentine tissue box. This one is gold and white. (Click on the image for more info.)
This is one of the prettiest wast baskets I have ever seen. Just like the tissues, every house has trash and needs a place to put it. Wouldn’t this be an elegant one to use in a lovely boudoir or hom study? The top is particularly pretty with the curved edges. (Click on the image for more info.)
This is yet another hinged top box, but this one has a domed top. I love how the paint has worn in many places. This wear or patina, is something I look for when I am buying for myself. (Click on the image for more info.)

Beautiful. I just purchased my first florentine piece at a charity auction. It is a little side table.

HI Anita,
I never really had a fondness for Florentine until of late where I have collected the pieces and, don’t cringe, but I sand them down and leave some of the Jesso finish behind and fog the piece with a bit of white dirtied up with a bit of grey just to soften the newness in standing off the finish to giving it a whole new fun design look that fits into my decor style.
I love how you decorate around it, and it all just seamlessly fits right into your beautiful home designs.
A home to most definitely love.
