Favorite Little Things

By Anita 21 Comments

I have some adorable little things that get lost when I do a blog post on the room, so I thought I would highlight here.
This adorable little clay angel bell is from my friend Peggy, click here. We were at the Round Top Antique Show and she knew that I liked it.  One of her wings had previously broken off, and it has been repaired.  I can relate. I think she is precious.

This darling little doll’s chest once belonged to our Aunt Annie.  It opens up, although part of the top broke off long ago, again, more charm!

We inherited this cute little painting.

This dancing French couple are too cute.  I bought them at a shop that specialized in French things.

For a long time, the boy was on Mr. CH’s side of the bed, while the girl was on my side.  They have since been moved to my desk.  I hated seeing them so far apart, so now they are next to each other (I know, I know, a hopeless romantic!)

And we also inherited this Ballard Designs alarm clock from my MIL.  It was a gift from us to her for Christmas one year.

And in my “I bought something I haven’t put to use yet” category, I have a wooden bowl full of brass label tags from Ballard Designs.

Yes, this isn’t the way they were intended to be used, but it’s a good holding spot while I think of where I can use these labels, any ideas?

The first two items are classical “wabi sabi” — and I like them (and all the others here, too)…

    Anita,
LOVE all of your little treasures.I am sure you could find a place for those metal labels.Any drawers in your kitchen or any little pieces hanging around that you could give a makeover too?

    Anita,
You made my heart go “pitter~pat” when you told of placing the French dancing couple ‘together’ on your desk!!! What can I say, dear friend, but one hopeless romantic to another!!! Each accessory is a treasure with heart strings…I adore them all. Thanks for sharing the memories with all of us! Have a wonderful weekend…it’s raining here on the Prairie!!!

It’s easy to overlook sweet little items in a room. I often feel that I have so much that some of my treasures are never really noticed. However, I know they are there and love them. I love the labels. They would be so cute used on a number of items. I can see them sewn to each pocket on a closet organizer or used to hi-lite a special date on a calender or banner. Do you have any little drawer units that they could be added to?
    Hugs,
    Jann

You have some very lovely things. I sometimes think the less than perfect ones have a bit more meaning, as it shows they have been used, and no doubt loved.

The miniature piece of folk art furniture is adorable!!! The tags are fun, but it’s way too early in the morning for my brain to think of a clever use for them. :@

I agree that sometimes the little things often get overlooked but they are usually the most precious! Yes, your dancing figurines belong closer together 🙂
I love your little tags. How about using them to label baskets or jars for organizing?

Found my way here from Pinterest. I love miniatures, and I loved looking at some of yours. You’ve also inspired me to do a similar blog post of my own.
