Decorating with Antique Grain Sacks

By Anita 24 Comments

Do you love antique grain sacks as much as I do?  I have 5 in my living room alone.  (Just counted, there are actually 6.)

This one is really the prettiest one I have. I bought it at Round Top recently.

Looking at these pieces of the past, always leaves me wondering who the original owners were and what their lives were like.

Most of my grain sacks have a simple stripe,
some have fancy initials,

some have basic initials,

Some are red,

and some are blue.

I actually have more, but that’s all the photos I could find today.

I have to settle for drop cloth painted to look like grain sacks. I have an idea for something, but probably won’t happen till over winter.

I love the simplicity of grainsacks, yet they definitely make a statement when used in any room.

Your pillows are all so lovely! Do you sew all of them yourself? I love your guest room with the 3 twin beds. So, so cute.
