Decor Steals Photo Shoot

By Anita 19 Comments

I’m pretty excited I have to admit.  I got to shoot the Decor Steals photos for today’s steal, the Mason jar lids!  Thank you to the owner/founder for enjoying my photography enough to use it on her website, Decor Steals.

I love using Mason jars for glasses when we have parties.  In fact, I think I have about 60 Mason jars. We used them for our wildflower party last year, click here, and the lids make the Mason jars even more fun for parties.

(I received product for the purposes of review.)

I got my Mason jars at Walmart and at a local grocery store, but they were very hard to find.  The city Walmart doesn’t carry them any more, but the Walmart near the ranch does.

This was a two-fer for me. My daughter had a birthday party this Saturday to celebrate her 17th birthday, and I was shooting photos for the Decor Steals deal of the day.

My daughter pronounced everything “cool,” but she definitely prefered the pink version to the green one. (Yes some of the candy is left over from my Valentine’s Day table, click here, but as you might notice, we’ve eaten a lot of it.)

She had a blast at her party.  We went bowling, then to the pizza restaurant, back home for cake, then the girls moved the party upstairs for the slumber part of the party.  Well, not slumber but the stuff you do instead of sleeping, which I’m hoping was just playing wii, doing each other’s hair, and giggling.  Remember the old days, when you went to a slumber party and the fun thing to do was call a store and ask if they had Prince Albert in a can? Then if they said yes, you would respond, “Could you please let him out?”  *sigh* #goodtimes

P.S. This deal will be available until Tuesday morning at 10 am EST.

I am such a mason jar freak too. I use them for everything. How did you put the straw holes in the lids? Love the photos, I really like the green. 😀

Anita, I was so excited when I opened my morning “Deal” and saw that you had photographed the piece. Excellent shots! The party sounds like a hit. And yes, I do remember slumber parties. Felt like a zombie the next day. Don’t do well without sleep. 😉

Anita, I love your pretty party vignettes!
And your photographs for “Deal” are so country chic and fun!
I am hosting a country reception for my son and his soon-to-be bride at StoneGable. They are being married in St. Petersburg, FL Abby’s hometown. So I am going to have all the northern friends who can’t get to the wedding here for a reception. I would love to use ball jars… did you put the wholes in the lids? I would love to know how to do that! Just wonderful!
