It’s late so this will be very short.
For about 2 weeks I had a booth in Round Top at the Compound. It was fabulous! I met so many wonderful people. I loved it. I did some book signings and truly loved meeting every person that crossed my path. And now it’s over. So what do you do with what is left? My booth was so big and stuffed full of so much!
So now what do I do? I still have so many wonderful goodies. I got a space at Heights Antiques on Yale. And I marked many of the items down! I’m still pricing things, and adding things, but it’s coming together. I’m hoping this will be another way for me to share wonderful Farmhouse French finds with my friends. I have a bunch of things to add to my online shop as well. Some things are too big to ship, so having a space is a great place to display and sell them. The pillows will be in my online shop hopefully by new week, and at Heights Antiques on Yale. I know people have been asking about them. I bought a large stack of antique towels with embroidery on them, and I’m having those made into pillows also.
I love old linens! Maybe a bit too much.
I’m still working on organizing the space and making it a bit more presentable, which is difficult since I am (at the same time) trying to ship about 100 book orders from my online shop that I couldn’t ship earlier (since we were out of books.) I’ve been signing books while my daughter boxes them. It was working like clockwork until I ran out of shipping labels. It’s like the equipment knows I’m in a hurry. I ordered them last week, so I expect them tomorrow. Well all I can say is I am sure glad I have such wonderful and patient readers.
The pictures were taken with my phone. I decided bad photos today were better than no photos. So that’s where I’m at. Meanwhile I’m trying to get my daughter (who has Down Syndrome) situated at a day program. And I have so many deadlines this week, it’s not funny. I’m also setting up some book signing events (details coming soon).
Yes it’s crazy town here, and yes it’s a little too crazy for my taste, but here is what I know. I’m very blessed. I get to do what I love. I get to hang out with fabulous people who are creative and talented. (That’s you.) And, I have the privilege of helping people to make their homes livable, warm and elegant. So although I’m tired, I’m happy.

Anita,
Your space is fabulous, dear friend!!!
It takes awhile to get a booth space so that all the merchandise can be seen in a glance!!!
Hang in there, you’ll get it!!!
Meanwhile, I appreciate how your family comes first and foremost!!!
After all, they are the reason we love doing what we do!!!
Thank you for sharing your life and inspiring others!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Ooooh… I wish I still lived in Houston. I do get back there often and your space will be on my must do list. I opened a booth at an antiques mall a few months ago. I love shopping for it. The trick is bringing my finds to the booth instead of finding places for them at home!
