We have walls

By Anita 24 Comments

I thought you might want to hear about how it’s coming with our new city house, and here’s the latest.

This is the back of the house.

This is our new bedroom, much larger than our current one.

And the photo above is our new kitchen. There’s going to be a wall of cabinets on this side of the house.

This side of the house will be where the fireplace is located. I don’t know if you can tell, but the ceilings are 10 ft high which will give the house a very roomy feel.
I wasn’t going to show you all of these photos since I wasn’t sure you would want to see them, but people keep asking about the house.  It will still be awhile until I have fun photos with pretty finishes.
Did you miss any of the posts on the construction progress? Catch up here.

It is interesting seeing a house being built from start to finish! It will be exciting to follow along! In Germany, houses are built so very differently, so it’s fun to watch along and learn something new. Cheers!

Gee, Anita, this brings back memories of last summer when we were at this point!!! It also looks pretty familiar. We ahve a window on each side of our fireplace, and windows on the adjacent wall too! Your bedroom looks HUGE, that is so nice. I hope you have better closet space than we do; all our closets are kinda small…..one drawback. Your new home is going to be beutiful. I love our 10 foot ceilings, it does make it feel SO much bigger. XO, Pinky

Building is soooo much fun. Looks like you are making good progress. When we downsize in a couple of years, I want to build a Jack Arnold home.

    Anita,

Isn’t building a new home an exciting and at the same time stressful adventure. So many ups and downs!! It is interesting to watch the process. We too have designed and built a home-your post brings back fond memories!

    Anita,
How exciting that the walls are up! Things always seems to go fast at this stage, and then everything really slows down later. I can’t wait to see all the choices that you make. You have such excellent taste.
