Update on Our New House

By Anita 19 Comments

Yes, we finally have a roof on our house! Yes, I’m showing you the garage, but the roof looks the same on the house; I just couldn’t get a good angle to show it to you.

And here are the windows. They are wood-framed, and I’m pretty excited about that.

Here’s the living room again, now you can see the stairs.

Caroline went with me, and she was checking out the view.  Shhh, she doesn’t know I took a picture of her.

Below you can see the siding going up on the side of the house.

Well I spoke too soon; looks like they still haven’t finished the roof on the front porch, but progress is being made.

I love that you share progress. I’m a sucker for a historical home, but when I see things like your new windows, I start to long for new construction. I can’t wait to see the finished home.

    Have a great weekend.

Well maybe there is something wrong with me, but I get almost as anxious about a new garage as I do a new house.

Whoo Hooo-it is getting there! How exciting. JeldWen makes a good window. We were in the window, siding, door business for many, many years. Make sure they insulate AROUND the windows when they install them. Many people don’t do that and it makes a world of difference in air leakage. It is extra work and they don’t like to do it unless asked. xo Diana

I love the windows! Did you ever say what color scheme you’d decided to use on your house? I can’t remember…

Wow! It’s going to be nice! I love the dimensional roofs. Can’t wait to see how things progress. We’ve never built a new home always bought existing ones. It’s exciting to design everything just the way you want it.
