6 Ideas for Using a Pedestal

By Anita 2 Comments

Pedestals are great for well, elevating something to a new level… literally. A pedestal gives an item important and lifts it up.  I love using them, especially the chippy ones. You can put books on them, or a special vase or pitcher, even a tray.

You can put a cloche on them as well.

Most things look better or at lease more impressive on a pedestal.

The pedestal below is available in my shop for $25.

The sacred hearts are also available, prices vary by size.

I even decided to use a very large one by the bed for a night stand. The one below is from Wisteria. (not a sponsored post.)

The pedestal below is available in my shop, as I mentioned earlier. PEDESTAL

And let’s say you like the concept of a pedestal, but don’t want to buy one right now. Do you have any options? Of course! How about using a stack of books to elevate the item?

I’ve even been known to use a stack of plates.

I even used a little cabinet as a pedestal to hold this little silver lamp.

The pedestal is great to not only give an item importance, but also it allows you to vary the heights of things on a table, chest or cabinet. The varying heights adds visual interest. For one of the rustic pedestals, the chippiness also adds texture.

So what do you use to elevate your things?

You’ve identified one of my obsessions! I use them to elevate apothecary jars and to display monograms. Love how the little cabinet also hides the lamp cord/plug. Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
