People ask me where I find all of these wonderful old pieces, and the answer is resale, consignment, thrift stores, eBay, local auctions, and Round Top. A few of the things I have found at thrift stores recently are my silver tray (click here to see post)
this silver water pitcher,
this basket (click here),
steamer trunk (click here),
Desert Rose dishes (click here),
and my Spode Rosebud Chintz dishes.
(As a side note, I have to say that I am so happy to be a part of blogland, where owning hundreds of dishes is normal. Yay!!) I took you along for a trip to the auction, click here, and now I want to take you to the thrift shop.
I thought this was a very interesting armoire. Ignore the football on top.
The silver was scrumptious.
Here’s my Desert Rose. I have a pretty complete set, so I restrained myself and didn’t buy any more.
I love these vegetable pieces and have a few asparagus containers, cabbage plates and bowls myself.
I loved these sweet little dishes.
I hope you enjoyed our shopping trip. I know I enjoy it more, when I will get to bring you along. Where is your favorite place to shop?
