Painted Tray

By Anita 19 Comments

We have inherited many things from my MIL, and here are some more.

This tray is from my MIL.  It is very heavy since it is made from solid wood, and is inlaid with ceramic tiles.   The tray came to me in a very dark stain. It really looked very 70’s, but I think it looks much more shabby chic with the ASCP (Annie Sloan Chalk Paint) in Old White.

The Yellow Fiesta was my MIL’s and the pink is mine.

I almost got rid of this tray since I didn’t like it when it was so dark, but I am really enjoying it now.

It seems fresh and clean now.  Here’s a close up of the tray.

I love taking old things and updating them or using them in new ways.

I love it in the white. Looks so pretty with the dishes and flowers too. Where do you obtain your chalk paint? I ordered 1 time and it was a horrid experience so have been very cautious about trying again. I know there must be some professional providers out there.
