It’s that time again. I’ve got a special friend on the back porch, that I want to share with you today. Tina, from The Enchanted Home, has the most AH-mazing home you have ever seen. She lives in a fairy-tale castle. It’s basically a smaller version of Biltmore! I KNOW you are in for a treat. And Tina is the most warm, sweet person you can imagine. Her personality is just as lovely as her home is. Here she is…
Hi there! What a pleasure it is to be here at Anita’s wonderful blog, Cedar Hill Ranch. I am honored to have been asked to participate in her wonderful series and to be amongst so many other wonderful blogging friends.
This was a fun post to put together and really allowed me a chance to reflect on why I started blogging in the first place and how it has changed me (happily, in all good ways). So thank you Anita for asking me over and to everyone else for stopping in! Lets get this party started….
Good question. It was admittedly done on a total whim. I was reading blogs well before I knew I was actually reading a blog. I didn’t, truth be told even know what a blog was, just that I clicked on this fabulous site with tons of great pictures, there were all these other little pictures and links to other great sites, then my “aha” moment was when I learned these were called blogs.
Somehow on a day I was feeling particularly confident, I figured I would try my hand at one. Thought it would be a fun way to combine all I love, decorating, blue and white collecting, writing, connecting, sharing, interior design, entertaining, cooking, flowers,etc…..and of course it was a great way to share in the journey of building our home.
For sure the best part is meeting so many wonderful people, both through my blog virtually and a few in person (hopefully many more to come). You really do develop a true bond/connection with other like minded people that you would otherwise never meet.
I have friends as a result from far away places, everywhere from Australia to France to Dubai to Maine!! I have been approached about a few features from various publications but my home is far from ready but its good to know that when its totally complete there are some great opportunities for the taking!
Another exciting thing is starting my online shop which I am having a ball with. I love owning my own little “shop”, a place to share and cultivate a collection of all that I love.
3. What is your dream gig?
Humm…honestly I have many. May I indulge and tell you a few? OK, one is to develop my own line, under my name The Enchanted Home. It would be an extension of what I am already selling but with my own signature. I would love to manufacture a line of beautiful traditional home accessories. I already in my head have a few products in mind that I think are missing from the marketplace:)
I would love to write a coffee table book about creating a beautiful and enchanted home. Big glossy pictures, filled with how to’s and throw in some entertaining and recipes while I am at it!
Moving right along….. I would love to write a screenplay and actually have started one, yes it is absolutely something I believe in and I think something Broadway could embrace!
I would love to eventually open up my own boutique/interior design firm but the timing has to be right and likely this would be when my kids are all grown up and on their own (sniffle sniffle).
Always wanted to own my own little super chic cafe/home furnishings shop/florist (all in one) wouldn‘t that be neat?
4. What are a few things that readers would be surprised to find out about you?
That I am a free spirit, that I have no problem throwing caution to the wind and “just going for it” (even more as I get older, you realize that time really is precious)!
That I might be addicted to cheese, pasta and chocolate. Yea, I am careful to control it but if I didn’t, trust me…… every meal would center around those three things.
That I cry every time I see a Disney or Johnson and Johnson commercial because I realize how much I miss having little kids. I get teary eyed just writing this.
That I have OCD. Maybe this won’t surprise you, maybe it will. But I get fixated on things and don‘t let go, good and bad:)
